Active FoxPro Pages (AFP) is a system that lets you build dynamic Web pages with Microsoft Visual FoxPro, XML and HTML.

Target Group

This documentation provides a few basics and some background information that will help you familiarize yourself with the AFP technology so you can understand and utilize it for the creation of dynamic Web applications.

We assume that you are an experienced user of HTML or XML. If you have already created HTML documents, this will definitely give you an edge. While we will make occasional short references to HTML, XML or structural design you should not consider this manual as your sole source of information for HTML and XML. You will find numerous resources for these and many other aspects in the Internet

This manual will on occasion also refer to different tools and applications. These are applications for Microsoft Windows only, as the Active FoxPro Pages can only run under that operating system.

Acknowledgements

Our special thanks go to Marco Wotschadlo who so ably assisted us in the creation of this guide. We also thank Jorge Pérez for his untiring support in Latin-America and for his Spanish translations. Special thanks go to Tom O'Hare who generously permitted us to use his plug-in adcSendMail. Finally, we would like to thank all Beta testers of AFP 3.0; without them, Active FoxPro Pages 3.0 would not have been possible in this quality.
